We are pleased to announce the second symposium for the JSPS Core-to-Core project, “Establishment of a One-Health research network for controlling neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in Sub-Saharan Africa @LUANAR, MALAWI”

Sub-Saharan Africa continues to face a high burden of NTDs, many of which are zoonotic. Through the NTDs Core-to-Core project, experts from Zambia, Japan, and Malawi in the fields of medicine, veterinary science, and vector research will gather to exchange knowledge on NTD research, as well as to explore new and effective collaborative studies, infectious disease education, and the training of young researchers.

To ensure productive discussions, we will hold an international symposium every year during the project period to promote international exchange. For the second year, we will have a symposium in Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Malawi. We will also have presentations from closely related projects, such as the Zambia Zoonosis Research Project by Hokudai Center for Zoonosis Control and the Leishmania project.
